Went on an ATV ride today. Headed out with 10 bikes & 12 riders. We went over Preacher's Pass (which is just a tad bit easier than the Hog's Back) and went to Brenda for ice cream!! On our return trip, we followed the fibre optics line (the Roller Coaster) beside Interstate 10 back to Quartzsite then back through the desert to home. On our way home, we saw 4 adult & 2 young mountain sheep. The first we've seen in a few years. It was 60 miles 'round trip. The weather was fantastic. Up to about 76F, sunny and very dusty!! The trails are really rough this year due to all the rain.

Thought I should show you the quilt the ladies in the Magic Circle made. About 12 - 15 women hand sewed every bit of this quilt by hand. There are a total of 1005 hexigons & 26 half hexigons in it. They were sewn into 120 flowers with 165 individual hexigons in between the flowers and on the ends. We sold $600.00 in raffle tickets and one of the ladies from the Circle won it! We're going to put the money earned towards a Wii and some games. We're also planning to do a quilt again next year.

I can't believe how long it's been since I posted to this blog. We've been so busy this winter. The Quartzsite Quilt Show was this weekend and somehow, I managed to voluteer to type the entry cards and print labels & prize certificates. There were about 90 entries to type (and another 12 that showed up on the day the quilts had to be delivered for the show). All in all, it was a really good show. Everyone was impressed. I entered 2 small quilts and 2 wall hangings and a purse and was lucky to win a 2nd place for one of my small quilts. I even entered the Magic Circle Desert Quilt but since it was a group quilt, it couldn't be voted on. These are the quilts that I entered.
